DevOps @ SlimAI

The initial iteration of SlimAI was a DevOps platform that optimized Docker containers for software engineers. We took bloated container images, utilized AI to automagically slim the images down, and delivered the images back to the developer with zero loss of functionality.

Solving the problem of product-market fit in DevOPs

In creating a DevOps platform, I interviewed countless engineers to help the company discover a proper product-market fit. Once we had a usable product, we needed to observe how the DevOps and DecSecOps community used our platform. At SlimAI, we embraced product-led growth, so we utilized FullyStory analytics tools. We recorded user sessions, observed funnels, and analyzed retention reports to monitor usability.

Iterating on MVPs

The product took on many iterations. But through relentless user research, we delivered a product that gave engineers the ability to optimize their container images through the SlimAI platform, the CLI, and through the Docker Desktop Plugin.

Growth Opportunity: Docker Desktop

Docker Desktop grew our platform immensely. By offering our tool on the Docker Desktop experience, we exposed SlimAI to millions of developers. This meant I had to recreate our entire experience to fit into the design guidelines provided by the Docker team.
